The video through the link above shows a lot of great ideas. We used Floam to cover some boring wooden Barbie furniture for a Barbie Dreamhouse. It looks SUPER groovy now!
My kids BEGGED for Floam for weeks. I finally caved in and I have to admit it is a lot of fun. It’s just a different texture that is enjoyable. You do have to make sure to put it away right after you’re done though or it hardens and is no longer fun. (guess what happened to ours…) Although of course if you want to cover things with it and let it dry that is fun! But a big blob of dried floam isn’t that exciting. My kids made stuff with it – kind of like play dough and then the covered pencils in it. I am curious to hear what everyone else uses it for!
I gave (yes it was me) my son some Floam for Christmas. I asked him to cover an old pineapple can for me to use as a pencil holder on my desk. It does look groovy and everytime I look at it I think of him! Think of something they can make for you. They will be happy to do it.
How about covering things that are kind of blah and boring, like a CD case. You could even make a picture frame out of it for grandparents or other relatives.
Just a thought, we don’t have any Floam yet, although my oldest sees it in the store and thinks it’s cool until he gets down the aisle a bit and sees something else he likes better.
