What Can I Do with Epsom Salts?

Filed under: Personal Products — Administrator @ 7:20 am

Epsom salts are another one of those products that has an almost infinite number of uses.

Personally, I use Epsom Salts (approximately 2 cups) in my bath water. I sometimes add a few drops of essential oils (whatever I have on hand) for a luxurious spa-quality soak for pennies on the dollar. Here are more homemade spa & bath salt recipes.

Epsom Salts are also heavenly for sore, achy muscles. Just add a few cups of epsom salts to your bath and soak in the warmest water you can enjoy.

What are some of your favorite uses for Epsom Salts?

Another way to use Epsom salts in the bath is to add powdered milk. This is a great option for people who are sensitive to smells and can’t buy the expensive bath salts (as they are too scented).

Just add Epsom Salts and Powdered milk to a nice hot bath. It’s heaven (and SO good for you).

Did you know that many beauticians suggest Epsom Salts rinse for over-processed hair. Seems that there is something in it that strengthens the hair. Also…and this is going to sound a little weird….you can use a mixture of Epsom Salts (about a cup) househole ammonia (only a teaspoon of that to ward off insects), Salt Peter (go figure…but you have to ask you pharmacist for that…and again, only a couple of tablespoons) and water (a gallon to this other stuff) to grow the biggest, most beautiful ferns you’ll ever see. Again, something in there makes them really strong. Also fun to watch the pharmacist’s face when you explain it’s for your ferns!
