What Can I Do with Film Canisters?
Does anyone still use 35mm film? Does it still come in those little black film canisters?
I used to store change in them as a kid.
I’ve also used them as a cat toy (put a few dried beans in them so they make noise and roll it in front of your Friskie kitty).
What are some uses for Film Canisters?

Make musical instruments. (Little shakers)
Just take your film canisters and add a few pieces of rice or dry beans and close them. Decorate and you’ve got little homemade maracas.
Of course, for little ones, you’d want to glue the lids on to avoid choking.

You could also make a toy for your kitty with a film canister.
Add a piece of cat food to the inside (after it’s been washed thoroughly) and close tightly.
The cat will roll the toy around like crazy. Hopefully he won’t get it open, but, if he does, there’ll just be a little food inside.

My kids use these for “change holders” in their lunchboxes – perfect for milk money and snack cash.
We also keep one in the car with spare change – my husband calls it meter money.
